This tour takes you from Medellín to one of Colombia’s most iconic destinations: the impressive Piedra del Peñol and the colorful town of Guatapé. We begin the day with a scenic drive through green landscapes, reservoirs, and mountains. Upon arrival, the first sight to amaze is the Piedra del Peñol, a 220-meter-high monolith. Those who take on the climb of more than 700 steps will be rewarded with one of the most spectacular panoramic views in the country: a sea of green islands surrounded by crystal-clear waters. After the ascent (optional but highly recommended), we continue to Guatapé, a true explosion of color and tradition. Its cobblestone streets are lined with façades decorated with hand-painted zócalos that tell the stories of the region and its people. Here you’ll have time to stroll through the town center, take unique photos, visit the church, shop for crafts, and soak in the laid-back atmosphere. Along the way, we’ll also stop for lunch at a traditional restaurant (meal not included, but with local recommendations) where you can enjoy paisa delicacies overlooking the reservoir.
